The classic American hardwood
Walnut is the classic American furniture hardwood: rich, even brown, strong, and stable. It grows right here in the eastern mountains, and some of our slabs start as local logs other sawmills passed over.
It anchors many of our dining tables, desks, and sofa tables, in plain slabs and in figured walnut burl. If you want a piece that reads timeless rather than wild, walnut is usually the answer.
