Pale figure, wild edges
Buckeye burl comes from gnarled growths on buckeye trees, and no two burls are remotely alike. The wood is pale cream shot through with gray and blue-black veining, and the natural edge of a buckeye burl slab is as wild as wood gets.
We age buckeye logs up to a year before slabbing so the color spreads and deepens through the wood. The freeform tops it yields, filled and stabilized with epoxy, are some of the most striking pieces that leave our shop.
