Custom Wood Creations is located in an Amish community tucked away against Big Walker Mountain in Pearisburg, VA. CWC is co-owned by father-son duo Sam & David Chupp. Their showroom, mill, and wood shop are all located in the same vicinity only a short walk from each other. This is the setting of Custom Wood Creations.
From an outsider’s standpoint, Sam and David make it clear that CWC’s main goals are to provide quality “Rustic Handcrafted” furniture that will last for generations and create one-of-a-kind pieces. They strive to make their customer’s most creative and unique dreams come true. What sets them apart from everyone else is how hard they are willing to work to create the perfect piece that will grace your home, workplace, or office. All interactions are one-on-one with the wood artists from start to finish. CWC is not limited to furniture either. They also carry unique lamps, metal or wooded stands, and weathered wood/mounting bases for taxidermists.
Custom Wood Creations owns land out west where they personally harvest the rare, twisted juniper that is used for coffee and dining tables as well as floor and table lamps. They also bring tractor trailer loads of Redwood, Buckeye, Claro Walnut, Myrtle, and Bigleaf Maple burls. These burls are then cut in their large bandsaw mill, stacked, and left to air-dry. After, they are put in a dry-kiln then turned into a finished piece.
A number of unique bases are provided at Custom Wood Creations. One of the most rare they carry are the Redwood bases; roots are sandblasted to bring out its natural color and beauty! Other bases they provide are Yellow Locust Sumps, White Cedar Stumps, and a variety of steel bases. Bases can be chosen to the customer’s preference.
Custom Wood Creations welcomes people near and far to visit their community and shop with them. No matter how big or small, simple or intricate the project, they ensure its unique beauty will last generations to come.
